Profish is ideally located in Washington, DC, a center point on the mid-Atlantic coast and close to both fresh and salt water fishing. We take advantage of this when it comes to sourcing our seafood by ensuring we buy from local fishermen and businesses as much as possible. Buying locally-caught seafood not only supports the economies in the area, but also minimizes the environmental impact of transporting products. Please participate in all of our programs with local producers and agencies.
Hundreds of chefs have taken advantage of this initiative formed between Maryland Seafood and ProFish to learn about where their seafood comes from. Tour Local oyster farms, crab picking facilities, explore the watermans traditions, and more.
