Profish is ideally located in Washington, DC, a center point on the mid-Atlantic coast and close to both fresh and salt water fishing. We take advantage of this when it comes to sourcing our seafood by ensuring we buy from local fishermen and businesses as much as possible. Buying locally-caught seafood not only supports the economies in the area, but also minimizes the environmental impact of transporting products. True Blue is a program by Maryland Department of Natural Resources to fight seafood fraud in the blue crab market. The True Blue label ensures Maryland blue crab meat was used, not some other type of crab meat.

Invasive Species Fight - Blue Catfish and Northern Snakehead

Profish promotes consumption of invasive species such as blue catfish and snakehead to combat their expansion in local ecosystems. Non-native species compete with local flora and fauna, causing drastic changes in the environment and affecting local favorites such as rockfish.

Charity Off The Hook, giving never tasted so good!

Profish created the nonprofit Charity Off the Hook to build a strong local community through charitable involvement. Each month a charity is chosen as a beneficiary, and proceeds from blue catfish sales and other fundraisers are donated to the charity.

Oyster Recovery Partnership

The Oyster Recovery Partnership recycles oyster shells to plant oyster beds. These oyster beds help the watershed by filtering the water. Profish donates oyster shells to the Oyster Recovery Partnership to aid in these efforts.
